10-minute tutorial
Learn Raxiv, one board at a time
Create a board, fill it with cards, connect ideas, calculate, then ask the AI about all of it. Prefer doing? Open a private board and follow along — no signup.
1. Create your first board
Cloud board: sign up, open the dashboard, press “New Board”. You get autosave, AI, collaboration, and sync.
Private board: /private works offline with no account. It lives in this browser — use Save .raxiv for backups.
Rename anytime from the top bar. Duplicate from the dashboard to fork an idea safely.
2. Canvas basics
Move: drag empty space (or hold Space), scroll to zoom, Ctrl + scroll for precise zoom. Home fits everything.
Cards: Insert menu or double-click to add text, headings, checklists. Drag to move, handles to resize, connect with arrows.
Shapes: press R rectangle, O ellipse, A arrow, B pen, T text, S sticky, F frame, E eraser. Press the key twice (or Q) to keep the tool active.
Organize: multi-select with marquee, Ctrl+G group, align & distribute from the toolbar, [ / ] z-order, lock what must not move.
3. Card types
Text & headings structure ideas. Checklists become tasks. Images & PDFs drop straight onto the board — PDF text is extracted for search and Q&A.
Votes: create a poll card, start a round, everyone (even viewers) can vote. Ctrl+Shift+V opens the voting panel.
Frames: press F, drag a frame, then flip through slides with PgDn / PgUp.
Search with Ctrl+F — Enter cycles through hits and centers each card.
4. Calculation cards
Type formulas like monthly_revenue = customers * monthly_price and annual_revenue = monthly_revenue * 12. Variables resolve across cards, errors and circular references are flagged.
Try: revenue = 250 * 799. Then open the AI panel → “Visualize calculation” for a proof tree with What-if and Solve-for explorers.
Formulas run in a sandboxed math parser — arbitrary code can never execute.
5. AI assistant
Open the AI panel on any cloud board. Three modes: Ask (full answers + citations), Tutor hint (one guiding hint), Locate (brief answer + camera pans to the cluster).
Quick actions: summarize, decisions, notes → tasks, organize, diagram, visualize, missing questions. Select cards first to scope the AI to just those.
The AI never edits directly — it proposes cards/connections, you press Apply or Cancel. Click any 📎 citation to focus that card.
On a PDF card, ask document questions to get page-number citations.
6. Collaboration
Owners open Share → Collaboration: create up to 3 links, each with its own tier (view-only / limited / full edit), sign-in requirement, seat cap, and up to 3 keys with aliases.
Share link + key together (embedded) or separately. Guests without accounts appear as unknown1, unknown2. Give nicknames visible only to you.
Freeze one person or pause the whole board. Kick blocks rejoin until you unblock. Personal undo Ctrl+Z touches only your edits; board undo Ctrl+Shift+Z / redo Ctrl+Shift+X is owner/full-edit and skips locked items.

8. Save & export
Cloud boards autosave continuously (watch the Saved/Saving indicator). Private boards autosave to this browser.
Take it with you: export PNG/SVG, copy-as-PNG, or save a .raxiv scene file and re-open it later. Free-plan users should save .raxiv backups — there is no cloud copy.
